Microsoft Word 2007

Welcome back to my blog!

Microsoft Word 2007 is still pretty new to me. At first, I thought Word 2007 was very confusing because some of the buttons are in different places. I was really used to using Word 2003 and Word 2007 is quite a bit different. However, last semester forced me to use Word 2007 frequently, so I learned the workings of Word mostly through trial and error.

Now, I can proudly say that I can type a pretty simple document using word, but I'm sure there are many other neat tricks and tips that I can learn.

Computers, Computers, Computers...

Hey there!

Thanks for checking out my blog. I would have to say that my computer experience is about average. I know enough to navigate my way around the computer and the Internet, but there is still much that I could learn. My current computer is a Dell Laptop which I received as a graduation present. It is a pretty neat little thing and very dependable.

I think that what I will learn from this class is going to be very helpful throughout the remainder of my academic career as well as in my life outside of academics. Putting together an awesome PowerPoint presentation is one of the many skills in life which may come in handy one day. As for me, I would like to learn more about how to use Microsoft Office 2007. Microsoft Excel has long haunted me as a scary and intimidating program, but I know that after this semester I will most likely conquer the monster.

I am so proud of myself in that I mapped all the network drives on my computer in the residence hall all by myself. I noticed that my computer runs a little more slowly when engaging with the other network drives, but it must be due to the enormous amount of information stored in those network drives.

Well, looks like this blog is done. Stay tuned!

First Blog Ever!

Well, here is my goofy video:

As mentioned in the video above, my name is Danielle Ortega. I am 19 years old and a first year student at Trinity University. I graduated from O'Connor High School, located on San Antonio's northwest side. I played varsity soccer my junior and senior years at O'Connor, but I had been playing club soccer since I was in first grade. When I was 14 years old, I hurt my knee during a soccer game and I had to have surgery. It took me nine months to rehabilitate and begin playing soccer again. I do not play soccer anymore for club, but I still enjoy running and being active.

My family is pretty crazy. I have two younger brothers and two younger sisters. Karlie, my 15 year old sister, plays volleyball for a very prestigious club team and she is an awesome volleyball player. My brother Drew, 14 years old, plays for the freshmen basketball team at O'Connor. Travis, 12, is video game crazy and loves to play Halo 3 on his new X Box 360. Zoe, my youngest sister, is trying to follow in Karlie's footsteps and she plays volleyball as well. My dad is a Family Practice Physician and my mom works at the elementary school my youngest sister attends. I have a boyfriend, named Aaron, who is the most hilarious guy I know.

I love college so far, although my first semester classes were really difficult.

I'm sure there will be many more blogs this semester so stay tuned!
