Hey everyone!
As a student, I have seen countless PowerPoint presentations given by my teachers. The articles on today's class links provided some really good information about how we should construct our Power Points. After reviewing the links, the five things I think are important are:
1. Use of words: I really don't like it when people cram a bunch of words on a PowerPoint.
2. Graphics: I think graphics are important to catch a viewer's attention, but when there are pictures, noises, and words all over the place, it can be a little distracting.
3. Simplicity: I definitely agree with the articles that express keeping your PowerPoint relatively simple. The presentation is about you, not your PowerPoint.
4. Color: When the color choices burn the back of my retinas, I stop paying attention.
5. Templates: I agree with many of the articles when they say don't use PowerPoint templates. Designing your own slides can allow you to put a personal spin on your presentation.
I'm in the Pre-medicine program at Trinity and I will most likely do my presentation on an important part of the human body. Right now I'm thinking about doing the cardiovascular system.
